Today, the students proved their creativity. They worked divided into international small groups in a modernly equipped classroom. The aim of their work was to use various media to put together information material on the Erasmus+ project in order to convey the Slow Food movement to different target groups.
Together, the students created a video about sustainable food and the protection of regional and traditional food from the regions Trentino / South Tyrol, La Mancha / Spain, and Hohenlohe / Mainfranken. The dishes and products from the different regions were compared with regard to taste, consistency, price and processing as part of the preparation process. The second team was designing an information brochure about the importance of the Slow Food movement. The third transnational team compiled a data sheet on the ingredients, allergens, energy content and cost of goods of the Slow Food menus as part of the nutritional and economic evaluation. The aim of the group work was also the comparison with conventional products and a collection of ideas how sustainable and healthy food could be brought closer to a younger audience, such as classmates.
Afterwards, we visited the traditional street market Valdepeñas in bright sunshine. There we tasted churros, filled olives with almonds and other regional specialties. We were particularly impressed by the variety of fruits and vegetables.
Now it was up to the students to cook the Slow Food menu together.
- Creamy manchego cheese with coulis of asadillo
- Almagro´s aubergines in tempura
- Duelos y quebrantos eleventh century
- Atascaburras mouse over earth crumbs
Together we enjoyed the tasty Slow Food menu in the dining room of the school. After a one-hour siesta, we discovered the city. The Spanish students had organized a digital city rally through Valdepeñas with their teacher where the students had to find places of interest in international small groups and had to answer questions about them. So they gained a deeper insight into the culture and history of the Spanish city.
The day ended with a get-together during which the students exchanged the experiences of the city rally.
